Ariana Lucas

Born in Sacramento, Ariana Lucas studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and was in the Opera Studio of the Luxembourg Music Theatre in 2012/13. She has received scholarships from the Dorothy Augusta Music Scholarship, Asya Pleschach Scholarship for Young Singers, Young Artist Scholarship from the San Jose Music Study Club and is a recipient of the Bertha Stever/Pascal Mounk Scholarship Competition.
In 2016 the contralto made her debut as Erda in »Das Rheingold« at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe and became an ensemble member there from 2017/18 with a repertoire of Schwertleite (»Die Walküre«), Mademoiselle Dangeville (»Adriana Lecouvreur«), Gertrude (»Romeo et Juliette«), 3rd Lady (»Die Zauberflöte«), Erda (»Siegfried«) and La Voix de la Tombe (La Mère) (»Les Contes d’Hoffmann»).
Guest appearances have taken her to the Bielefeld Theatre, the Wuppertal Opera House, the Lucerne and Aachen Theatres, as 1st Maid in »Elektra« to the Berlin State Opera (house debut) and to the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilie in Rome under the baton of Antonio Pappano, as a housekeeper in Strauss` »Die schweigsame Frau« to the Bard Music Festival in New York (USA debut) and to the Karlsruhe State Theatre. In 2023 /24 Ariana Lucas is looking forward to her guest engagement as Filipyevna in »Eugene Onegin« at the Heidelberg Theatre.
