Shira Patchornik

The young Israeli soprano completed her vocal studies in Tel Aviv and Leipzig.
She is a multiple prize winner, most recently winning both 1st prize and the audience prize at the International Vocal Competition for Baroque Opera »Pietro Antonio Cesti« (2021), as well as 1st prize at the Concours Corneille.
Her repertoire includes roles such as Pamina, Susanna, Zerlina, Micaëla, Morgana, Gretel and Oscar, which she has performed at opera houses such as the New Israeli Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden (ensemble member 2018-2020), Theater an der Wien, Teatro Regio di Torino (G. Frid's »Anne Frank«), Theater Heidelberg, Komische Oper Berlin, Oper Leipzig and the Bregenz Festival (Tatjana, Contessa Ceprano).
The soprano also devotes herself with great passion to the baroque repertoire and concert activity with regular appearances at the Vienna Konzerthaus, Het Concertgebouw and the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, among others.
Her latest engagements include Arianna (»Il Giustino«) with the La Cetra Barockorchester Basel conducted by Andrea Marcon and her debut at the Händel-Festspiele Karlsruhe in a festival concert with the Deutsche Händel-Solisten, conducted by Andreas Spering. This summer Shira debuts at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca as Orazio (Auletta's »L'Orazio«) and sings Mozart's Requiem at the Bregenz Festival.
