Sara Gouzy

Sara Gouzy studied at the Hochschule für Musik »Hanns Eisler« in Berlin with Janet Williams and Michail Lanskoi and at the Guildhall School London with Susan McCulloch. She received further inspiration from Helmut Deutsch, Sandrine Piau and Emma Kirkby.

Since 2021 she has worked regularly with vocal expert Tamar Rachum.

She has won numerous competitions, including that of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, the International Song Competition in St. Petersburg, the Giulio Perotti Singing Competition and was a finalist at the Cesti Competition in Innsbruck. In the 2022/2023 season she will make her debut as Alcina in Francesca Caccini's »La Liberazione di Ruggiero« at the Theater an der Wien and as Tisbé in »La Cenerentola« by Rossini at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and then in Bordeaux and at the Opera de Rouen.


For this she is taking part in a European tour with the Bach Consort Wien under the direction of Ruben Dubrovsky.

This was followed by performances at the Komische Oper and Deutsche Oper Berlin, as well as at the Kammeroper in Munich in Haydn's »Il Mondo della luna« and in Rheinsberg as Orazia in Cimarosa's »Gli Orazi e i Curiazi«. In Dijon she was heard as Yniold in Debussy's »Pelléas et Mélisande« and Amore in Gluck's »Orfeo ed Euridice«, in Avignon in Poulenc's »Dialogues des Carmélites« and Mozart's »Le nozze di Figaro«. With the lautten compagney BERLIN at the Naumburg Theatre she performed the title role of Handel's »Susanna«, in Wiesbaden Sicle in Cavalli's »L'Ormindo«, at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées Gianetta in Donizetti's »L'elisir d'amore«, in Toulouse she recently appeared in Janáček's »Jenůfa«. Sara Gouzy has given recitals in Switzerland, Austria, Germany (Bad Kissinger Sommer), France, Russia and the United Arab Emirates. She performed Saint-Saëns' »Oratorio de Noël« with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. A tour under Jordi Savall last season took her to various cities in Europe (Barbican Hall London, Konzerthaus Berlin, Philharmonie de Paris, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Laeiszhalle Hamburg) with Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Mozart's Requiem. Sara Gouzy has already performed with renowned conductors such as Peter Eötvös, Sebastian Weigle, Lahav Shani and Christophe Rousset.
