Glamorous bel canto or elegant melody? Tragedy or lightness? Opera has it all. As part of the second Castle Concert, famous arias and overtures from the opera nations France and Italy take centre stage. Great music and great feelings are what define the opera – come and experience it first-hand with the music of Gioachino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti, Léo Delibes, Jules Massenet, Jacques Offenbach, Giacomo Puccini, Pietro Mascagni and Georges Bizet. The Philharmonisches Orchester Heidelberg is conducted by the celebrated Chloé Dufresne from France. Popular Heidelberg singers Indre Pelakauskaite and Jaesung Kim will also be part of the programme – turning a summer night at the castle into a fabulous opera festival.
