Daniel Friedl, born in Bruchsal in 1989, was trained as an actor at Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Stuttgart after completing his Abitur and civilian service. During his studies, he already worked at Schauspiel Stuttgart, Theater Freiburg and Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. His first permanent engagement took him to Staatstheater Mainz from 2014 to 2019, where his roles included Oedipus in »Oedipus« (directed by Marcus Lobbes), for which he was nominated as Young Actor of the Year by the magazine »Theater heute« in 2018. During this time, there were formative collaborations with directors Jan-Christoph Gockel, Marco Štorman, Marcus Lobbes and the director duo Peter Jordan/Leonhard Koppelmann. In addition to further training as a thanatological counsellor/mourning counsellor and wellness therapist, regular work for film and television has led him in front of the camera. In the Netflix original series »Wir sind die Welle«, released in 2019, he embodies the main role Hagen Lemmart. Daniel Friedl has also worked several times as a narrator for SWR, Arte and Hessischer Rundfunk. From the 2019/20 season, Daniel Friedl will be a permanent ensemble member in the acting ensemble of Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. Important roles here included Diederich Heßling in »Der Untertan«, Arlequin in »Das Spiel von Liebe und Zufall« and Steve in »How to date a feminist«.
