Jorge Soler Bastida

Jorge Soler Bastida was born in Spain and studied dance at the Royal Conservatories in Murcia and Madrid. Before he got involved as a dancer with permanent ensembles, he worked as a freelance dancer and choreographer with e. g. Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Caroline Finn at Theater Kempten and at the FRESH International Festival. He also accompanied Maguerite Donlon as a choreographic assistant at the theaters in Hagen, Kiel and Wiesbaden and taught and assisted in the project »Set up« in Ireland. Since 2005, Jorge Soler Bastida has been a solo dancer with renowned companies, including the Staatstheater Nürnberg under Goyo Montero and the Saarländisches Staatstheater under Marguerite Donlon. Since 2008, he has been choreographing his own works and was a finalist at the International Contest of Choreography Burgos-NY. From 2016 to 2021, Jorge Soler Bastida was a dancer at Staatstheater Mainz. In September 2021 he joined Theater und Orchester Heidelberg as rehearsal director of the DTH.
