Andreas Seifert

Andreas Seifert was born in Gelsenkirchen. After studying acting at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover, he was engaged at Schauspiel Stuttgart from 1986. From 1987, roles followed at Schauspiel Frankfurt, where he also played the Fool in »King Lear« alongside Marianne Hoppe in 1990. From 1992 he was at Theater Bonn, as a guest in 2005 and 2006 at Volkstheater Wien and in 2007 at Theater Bremen. Since the summer of 2007 he has been a member of Berliner Ensemble, where his roles have included Hitler in »Der aufhaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui« and Veit Tümpel in »Der zerbrochene Krug«. In 2013 he was also a guest at Volksbühne Berlin in »Villa Verdi« (directed by Johann Kresnik). In addition, he has been acting in film and television productions since 1994. Since the 2011/12 season, Andreas Seifert has been a permanent ensemble member at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. Here he has appeared on stage in roles including Harpagon in »Der Geizige«, the lead role of »Richard III.« (Regie: Elias Perrig), Hans Prinzhorn in Klimke’s »Sammlung Prinzhorn« and Hölderlin in »Zur Blindheit überredete Augen / Hölderlin«.
