One Lada + two disparate teenagers = one great adventure: an unusual equation in a wild east summer. Maik was going to have the worst summer holidays of the whole class – but then Tschick suddenly turned up. Tschick, Andrej Tschichatschow is his full name, is new to the class, a late repatriate who has just arrived from Russia with his family. Obviously,  Tschick stole the blue Lada in which he is waiting outside the gate. Neither of them even has a driving license. But who cares about details when the world's your oyster? Destination: Walachia!

»Tempo, Tempo, Tempo« laute das Regiekonzept von Susanne Schmelcher; dem »jungen Premieren-Publikum schmeckte der 100-Minüter nicht einfach nur gut, sondern ganz ›Tschick‹-gemäß ›bonfortionös‹«, schreibt Volker Oesterreich in der Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung (15.12.2014).

Regisseurin Susane Schmelcher jage ihre Helden »in kalkuliertem Wechsel zwischen Tempo und introspektiver Verwirrung in ihre versponnene Gedankenwelt«, schreibt Eckhard Britsch im Mannheimer Morgen (16.12.2014). Der Kritiker berichtet von »griffig gemachten Rollenspielen«. Mit zwei »eigenwilligen Typen«, Florian Mania und Martin Wißner, seien die beiden Protagonisten besetzt: »beide ergänzen sich in ihrer Unterschiedlichkeit wirklich gut«. Elena Nyffeler spiele Isa »agil und variabel im Ausdruck«. »Viel Beifall vom überwiegend jugendlichen Publikum.«
