Pirsch
by Ivana Sokola
Zwinger 1
[recommended for ages 16 and up]
Whether town festival, village fete, fair or marksmen competition, there are rules for every kind of party. There's dancing. There's eating. Marinka returns home after years away, and while the PARTY keeps on partying, memories are coming back: memories of one particular party night that stopped Marinka from ever wanting to dance again. A night that is difficult to put into words. It's just a dream, says her brother. Marinka isn't able to state the extent of the crime, says the police woman. But Marinka will no longer be a victim; she wants to be the hunter. Together with a pack of dogs, she goes on a bitter HUNT to fight violence with violence, amid revenge and guilt, mercy and howling:
»He made me game / Returned me to the fields. / But look at me: / They're all wrong. / I am a huntress. / I lift my hand / Look: / Everyone cowers. / That is what we call R E S P E C T / Idiots.«
