Virginie Déjos

The french musician Virginie Déjos is pianist and conductor, and has worked at Radio France, the Lübeck Opera and the Staatsoper Stuttgart. She is currently choir director in Heidelberg Stadttheater. She has worked with conductors Cornelius Meister, Marc Piollet, Stefano Montanari, Sofi Janin, Alexander Myrat, Ryusuke Numaijiri, Titus Engel, among others. She received her Master of Music in Piano Performance with high distinction from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of professor Evgeny Mogilevsky, a conducting diploma from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, and earned her doctorate degree with félicitations from the Paris Sorbonne University. She is a laureate of the international Scriabine Competition and the Piano Competition of Île de France and won the international Lied and Melodie competition from Gordes with the soprano Déborah Attal. In 2016 she obtained a scholarship from the Paris Cercle Wagner.

Virginie Déjos has conducted several symphony concerts with choir and orchestra in Paris (Choeur Harmonia and Orchestre Lyrique de Paris, Premiere performance of Rémi Guillard's Requiem in La Madeleine) as well as Benjamin Britten’s operas »The Little Sweep«, Kurt Weill’s »Der Jasager« at the Rochefort Theater staged by Olivier Dhénin, and Wagner’s »Das Rheingold« in Vendôme staged by Pierre Thirion-Vallet. In 2022 she conducted a new production of »Les Enfants terribles« by Philipp Glass staged by Corinna Tetzel in Stuttgart opera.

As a pianist, she regularly performs concerts. Her last engagements included the opening recital of the Ruhrtriennale 2021, concerts in the Liederhalle, Liederabend in Stuttgart Staatsoper, Liederabend in Vilnius Philharmonie and chamber music concerts for Nuremberg Bridging Arts Festival. She performed the piano part of »Les oiseaux exotiques« as a soloist with the Staatsorchester Stuttgart and the »Quatuor pour la fin du temps« during the Messiaen Festival of the Staatsoper Stuttgart. Her concerts were broadcasted from the BR Klassic and LRT, lithuanian radio and television. 

In 2021 she founded with the Stuttgart Institut Français a chamber music festival and recorded several chamber music pieces from french composers together with musicians from the Stuttgart Staatsorchester.
