A tragicomedy by Friedrich Dürrenmatt / With texts from »A Girl's Story« by Annie Ernaux
Marguerre-Saal
[recommended for ages 16 and up]
She's back. There's a whole lifetime spanning the old lady's youth and her present day. Now she is back in her home town. In Güllen. What happened back then shaped her life. The time has come for it to finally also shape – and end – her former lover's life.
Thus multi-billionaire Claire Zachanassian, formerly Kläri Wäscher, and Alfred Ill meet again in Güllen. They last saw each other at court, where Ill denied being the father of their joint illegitimate child and thereby condemned Kläri to social calamity. Following »Peer Gynt« und »Oedipus«, this is Alexander Charim's third production at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. His stage version combines Dürrenmatt's 20th century classic with a work by the current winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, Annie Ernaux: passages from »A Girl's Story« complement the play in the double figure Claire Zachanassian/Kläri Wäscher.
